"PLANT IT PINK'
TONY E. WARREN CANCER CENTER
Blue Star Memorial Marker, was placed at our previous garden in Myrtle Hill Cemetery and dedicated November 11, 2010 to honor all service men and women. This garden accents the marble archway marking the entrance at this historic cemetery. For over 50 years Mountain View had maintained the entrance garden which did not have a water source.
In the spring of 2013, Mountain View Garden Club was given the opportunity to move their Civic Beautification garden to the Tony E. Warren Cancer Center.
Linda Mullis, Karen Smith, and Didi Vreatt developed a beautiful garden in a large planter at the front entrance of the center. A Japanese maple tree is the center plant with seasonal plantings of pink flowers (Plant it Pink) added during the year.
Mountain View hopes that the garden will be a bright, colorful spot for the enjoyment of all who visit the cancer center.

A BRIEF HISTORY
In November 1952, twelve young brides (friends of long standing) took up the
challenge of growing and arranging flowers for their new homes. Thus, Mountain View Garden Club was organized. In 1955, the decision was made to increase the
membership and to affiliate with the Rome Federated Garden Club, Inc. Three of
the charter members remain active in the club today.
Club Goal:
To learn, to grow, and to share our knowledge and ourselves, our lives and our
work so that "together, we can challenge the future."
