OBJECTIVES

  • To hold joint meetings of all RFGC Clubs to share and exchange successful garden club ideas.
  • To support NGC “GROW GREEN: PLANT AMERICA” programs, including but not limited to: gardening, horticulture, garden design, environmental issues, Blue Star Marker plantings, neighborhood plantings, youth school clubs, Plant it Pink, National Garden Week.
  • To support GCG “PLANT AMERICA-PROMOTING AMERICA, PROMOTING BEAUTIFICATION, CONSERATION AND EDUCATION, Georgia’s Legacy” programs, including but not limited to: Planting native plants, pollinator plants, Fig Leaf Project, Garden Week in Georgia, Awards Program, Blue Star Marker and Landscaping Program, Educational Programs.  To support the Mission:  Beautification, Conservation and Education.
  • To support Deep South Garden Clubs Projects “DECORATE THE DEEP SOUTH WITH FLORAL ACCENTS” by planting native plants and community gardens.  Each Club has a garden they maintain as a group and individually have gardens.
  • To educate the public and garden club members by holding Schools. Also have  a biannual  educational program.
  • To sponsor youth garden clubs, such as Elementary Schools where a raised vegetable garden was prepared and  planted this year.
  • To do garden therapy activities in our community, presently a DFAC program and Hospitality House for Women.
  • To encourage, plan and execute city-wide planting programs.  Each of the Clubs in RFGC have and maintain a garden in the City of Rome at strategic locations with 10 Blue Star Markers.
